A total of 536 ALA members at- tended the 2012 ALA Annual
Conference, held Sept. 9-11 at Hyatt
Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at
Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Ariz. This
year’s conference featured a 10-percent
increase compared to last year.
Beth Bentley, CMP, ALA director of
conferences, says the event received ex-
tremely high marks from attendees. “The
Hyatt’s hotel staff was friendly, attentive
and accommodating,” she adds. “The
weather was ideal – we really lucked out
both for the Sunday morning golf and the
opening reception. It was a glorious few
days in Arizona. Also, our breakout speak-
ers scored higher than last year’s – and
that is quite an accomplishment.”
The three-day event included general
session keynote presentations, educational
seminars and discussion panels, and
numerous networking opportunities in a
glamorous resort setting. Rave reviews are
pouring in from attendees who appreci-
ated the expertise and care that went into
planning this year’s event.
